Iraq: demand a public inquiry
The Petition
Dear Gordon Brown,
You've on many occasions promised that there will be a proper inquiry into the decision to go to war in Iraq, and more “transparency” across government.
We call on you to honour your previous commitments to transparency in government and guarantee a genuine inquiry into the Iraq War, to be held in public and free to draw whatever conclusions it sees fit.

Your personal information will be kept private and treated in accordance with our privacy policy.
Thanks to popular pressure including this petition, Gordon Brown has now moved a long way from his original plan to hold the Iraq Inquiry in secret.
The Inquiry Chairman has now said he wants most of the Inquiry to be in public, including evidence from key witnesses like Tony Blair. This is great progress, but we need to keep the pressure up to make sure they don't back track on these commitments.
Every MP in parliament knows about this petition, and a growing number have signed it. Please sign too and help keep the pressure on.
