The petition text:
To: Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt:
We call on your government to suspend consideration of the BSkyB takeover while a public inquiry assesses the full extent of the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
News Corporation cannot be trusted, and you should not hand more media power to a company with a track record of illegal activity.
You have a duty to uphold high media standards for the good of our democracy.

A few weeks ago, it looked like Murdoch had his BSkyB power grab all sewn up. But how can it be waved through whilst law breaking by the Murdoch empire is still being uncovered? If we raise a big enough outcry, we might just be able to turn the tide.
We've teamed up with Avaaz to demand the government calls an inquiry into phone hacking, and halts the takeover process until all the facts have been established. We will be delivering the emergency petition this Friday.
Please sign the petition to add your name and build the pressure for Murdoch's BSkyB takeover to be halted.
