Dear Gordon Brown,
Please do all you can to secure a fair, ambitious and binding deal in Copenhagen to help tackle dangerous climate change.
Please take action to get an agreement which ensures real carbon cuts in rich countries of 40% by 2020 without offsetting.
Protect the rights of the world's poorest people by guaranteeing adequate funding to allow clean development and measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.

In December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen to negotiate a deal on new plans to prevent dangerous climate change. It's vital that these talks make progress on a deal that puts the brakes on dangerous climate change while protecting the poorest countries, who often suffer the worst of its consequences. Sign our petition to the Prime Minister to demand action and climate justice at the summit.
Gordon Brown and the UK Government are important players at the talks. Not only are we one of the first countries in the world to put a Climate Change Act in place, we're also one of the nations most responsible for the emissions currently doing the damage. So while the Prime Minister has made a start, we need to make sure he follows up his promises by putting his money where his mouth is.
Climate change could make the gap between the world's richest and poorest people even bigger. To avoid that disaster, rich nations need to give proper funding for clean development to poorer countries. We also need to make sure that our Government isn't 'cooking the books' with plans for offsetting, which doesn't count towards carbon emissions.
The countdown to the Copenhagen talks has now begun. Please sign our petition to make sure the Prime Minister knows how many of us want him to bring back a just deal to tackle climate change from Copenhagen.
