Forests - don't scrap legal protections
|
Yesterday, David Cameron was asked if he was happy with the government’s plans to privatise our woodlands. His reply showed our pressure is starting to work: “the short answer to that is no”. But for all the warm words, the plans to sell-off our forests still haven’t been cancelled. Right now, the government is still pushing ahead with changing the law – to remove legal protections for our public forests! Clauses 17 and 18 of the Public Bodies Bill, currently going through parliament, would allow the government to sell off up to 100% of our woodland. If David Cameron really doesn’t want to sell off all our forests, why is he still changing the law to allow that to happen? We need to work together to put the pressure on our MPs to oppose clauses 17 and 18 of the Public Bodies Bill. Can you take 2 minutes to send them a quick message?
