Tell the Scottish Government: don't allow dirty new coal power stations
|
Right now the Scottish Government is considering whether to allow new coal fired power stations to be built. They have a choice: allow new coal stations to belch out pollution which will fuel climate change for years to come, or instead commit Scotland to a clean, renewable energy future. Together we can push the government to do the right thing. If thousands of us contact our government right now, they’ll know we demand they show leadership and commit Scotland to renewables. Coal is the most polluting way to generate electricity. Scotland does not need new coal plants for energy security. To achieve a low-carbon future, Scottish policies and investment must look to renewable energy, not fossil fuels. Together we’ve already persuaded the Scottish Government to commit Scotland to the strongest climate legislation in the developed world. Now we can make sure they don’t undermine this by allowing a new generation of dirty coal power stations. |
