DEB - a lobbyists' law
|
We often feel like government doesn’t listen enough to us, and listens too much to paid lobbyists working for big business. Whether it’s forcing through internet laws, tobacco advertising, arms deals, ID cards, or airport expansion, companies pay people to try to influence government. Currently we’ve no right to know what these lobbyists are up to. Music industry lobbying played a key role in the DE Bill stitch-up – let’s make sure that doesn’t happen again. Together we can push our election candidates to pledge to introduce new rules to ban secret lobbying – so we can find out easily who is trying to influence our politicians. Write to your parliamentary candidates now in less than two minutes and ask them to pledge to support lobbying transparency UK government data provided by GovEval.
