Renewable Heat Incentive
|
In the face of huge budget pressures, the Treasury is looking to cut as much as possible. Currently only 1% of our heat energy comes from renewable sources. A new Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme was planned to start in April 2011, but the Coalition Government has not committed to stick with it. We can’t hit our renewable energy target of 15% without addressing heat energy. If this initiative is dropped the UK won’t be able to achieve the "low-carbon economy" or the "green recovery" that was promised. The October Spending Review will decide whether the government will stick with its commitments or drop this very important initiative. It takes 2 minutes to send an e-mail to your MP and ask them to support these targets. Enter your postcode on the right to get started. ![]() UK government data provided by GovEval.
