Protect Tenants from Repossessions
|
It’s not just people who own the houses they live in who have been affected by the recession. Many landlords who rent out their properties have also been repossessed when they couldn’t pay their mortgage any more. But tenants aren’t well-protected by the law, especially if their landlord hasn’t told their mortgage provider that they are going to be renting the property out. In these cases, the first time a renter knows that they are going to be evicted could be when the baliffs turn up on the doorstep. On Friday 29th January, there is a vital vote in Parliament on a law which would protect tenants when their landlord gets their property repossessed. Enter your postcode and send your MP an e-mail, telling them to go to the debate on Friday and support the Bill. ![]() UK government data provided by GovEval.
